We strongly recommend, especially for out-of-town guests, members of the wedding party, and those who like to party, that you stay with us at the Oceanstone Resort. We have every unit on the property reserved on the 14th & 15th. Warning: while in a very quiet part of the world, the festivities will go to the early hours of the morning.
There are some excellent Airbnb's all over the Bay - search Indian Harbour & Saint Margaret's Bay to get the best results. But a word of caution - transportation options are very limited. A lot of locations will appear close to the venue, but without arranged transportation will not be easily accessible.
Clifty Cove Motel + Lighthouse Land Cottages - Ash has never known anyone who has ever stayed there, but they look totally suitable and both are very well reviewed on Trip Advisor. They’re a 15-minute walk from the venue, a walk Ash recommends late at night but Danae definitely does not.
Halifax - there are tonnes of really great options, but hotels we can recommend are:
The Lord Nelson - a lot of history in this building, a great vibe and a very decent value. Get a chowder and a drink from the Victory Arms, their hotel bar and tell them we sent you.
The Muir - right on the waterfront, it excellently captures Maritime sensibility with a very modern approach. We very much enjoyed our stay there.
Getting a taxi/Uber from Halifax to the venue is easy. Getting one back is essentially impossible without having it arranged prior.
We will have a driver booked to pick up and drop off anyone staying within a 15-minute drive.
